On Wednesday 15th November we had an awesome trip to parliament. We set off very early, at around 5:15 for some of us! The journey up was uneventful apart from a bit of traffic. We finally got there at 9:30 and had to put all of our belongings through the scanner. Once we had been scanned, we walked through to parliament with Tanya and Peter our guides. We had a tour of the House of Lords, House of Commons and other rooms in Parliament. In the House of Lords and Commons we were not allowed to sit down as we were not elected. We also learnt that the Queen is not allowed to go in the House of Commons as she can’t be seen to have a say in any of the decisions that are debated and made.
After the tour we had a few hours to spare so decided to do a little sightseeing around London. We went into the free 4D London Eye experience and walked around Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace before going back to the buses and making our way home.
It was a great day enjoyed by all: “It was absolutely awesome, lots of excitement!” Dylan. “Awesome trip, thanks Mr Bernice”, Georgia. “Very inspiring”, Cameo, Kerrie and Nikita. Thank you Mr Bernice and Mrs White and thank you Mr and Mrs Farr for driving us.
