On Friday 34th January Mr Neil Carmichael, a Conservative MP, visited our school and gave a very informative and interesting speech to Yrs 10 -13.  He explained how our country is challenged by others in the global economic race and that we have to meet that challenge by rising economic power.  He hoped that we would all consider the fact that, one day, we could become politicians.  He explained that what he finds interesting about politics is the fact that he deals with people everyday and that they are always fascinating.  He expressed the fact that being involved with young people was a real privilege.  He finished his speech by saying that the next General Election is arranged for May 2015 and said ‘I intend to win.  I want to see the Conservatives re-elected’.
